Happy Healthy Mum and Baby Classes

Every Tuesday evening in Towcester, starting October 14th 2008, 7.30 - 9pm

This is a weekly class for pregnant women and their partners where they will learn how to look after themselves during the pregnancy using exercises, breathing and relaxation to enhance their own well-being and vitality and thus increase the chances of their babies being happy and healthy.

The classes will help you tune into your body as it prepares for the great adventure. You can start coming when you are 3 months into your pregnancy and keep coming until the baby arrives. You don't have to come every week if you can't make a session.

Cost: £10 per session per couple, or £8 if you pay for two or more sessions in advance.

What can you expect in a class?

The sessions will start with a brief introduction to a particular aspect of pregnancy and childbirth, followed by gentle exercises designed to improve flexibility and breathing. Partners will be encouraged to participate in the exercises, and they will learn how to support their preganant partners and get in touch with their baby. There will usually be a number of Shiatsu practitioners assisting at the sessions, and often guest speakers including independent midwives and complimentary therapists. This is your chance to ask the questions you want and to meet other couples who are expecting a baby.

In the centre of Towcester, just by the Town Hall. Free parking right outside the door.

How to get there

Towcester is just 10 minutes by car up the A5 from the north of Milton Keynes.
If you are coming from Northampton or the M1, take junction 15a into Towcester.



What to wear for a session and what to bring?

Sponne Hall in Chantry House is warm and the floor is carpeted, so light comfortable clothes will be fine, such as track suit bottoms and a t-shirt, with maybe a sweater for when we are not exercising.

Please bring a rug or blanket to lie down on for some of the exercises.

Tea and coffee will be provided, and you may wish to bring your own bottle of water..
